Central Institute of Technology

Central Institute of Technology is a Centre of Specialisation in mining training. The Institute: •is the major deliverer of publicly funded mining training in Western Australia and has developed strong training partnerships with mining companies across WA; • has significant mining industry credibility based on the delivery of high quality specialised training programs in the areas of exploration processing drilling surface extraction surveying and laboratory operations; and • has specialised mining facilities and equipment including WA’s only simulated underground mine training tunnel. This unique training and induction resource enables graduates to arrive for the first day of their employment pre-skilled in the fundamentals of mine safety. Central’s team of lecturers is led by industry heavyweight Charles Dornan who was awarded Trainer of the Year at WA’s 2010 State Training Awards.
